A multifaceted musician — singer, producer, composer, director — Drea draws from her classical vocal and instrumental training to seamlessly blend genres from soul and jazz to blues, rock, and pop into her unique style. Drea began her career as a soloist performing across Europe at the age of 14; she has since toured as a featured artist in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, spanning venues from classical concert halls to international jazz festivals. Her experience seeing the world as an artist also planted the seeds for a career as a social entrepreneur focused on expanding education access in Africa. This exposure to daily life around the world in all its struggles and triumphs reignited her storyteller musical roots. In 2015, she co-founded Compositions for a Cause to create music that raises awareness around the most pressing human rights and social justice issues of our day. Together with trumpeter Keyon Harrold, she wrote and produced CFAC's first release "Running" (aka Refugee Song) featuring Grammy Award-winning artists Gregory Porter and Common, which Billboard named the top record to inspire hope and change in 2016. She went on to executive produce, produce, and write Harrold's 2017 album "The Mugician." On that album, she wrote, among others, "Circus Show" featuring Grammy winner Gary Clark Jr, which has been recognized internationally by media and music tastemakers as a leading protest anthem in our current political climate. In 2019, she released several singles she wrote and produced, including "Let Us Dance" with the Dap Kings featuring Maimouna Youssef and "This Land," an honest reaction to Woodie Guthrie's popular anthem premiered by Jazz Times and BBC Radio London to critical acclaim for its social consciousness. Her last single release "Tryin' Times" is a remake of a Donny Hathaway and Leroy Hutson protest song, which she premiered with Billboard Magazine with updated lyrics to capture today's political climate.
